Advantages: Up to date properties, quick, good search criteria

Disadvantages: None that I have found

I am currently in the process of not only trying to sell my house but also find the next one... whoever said that moving house was one of the most streesful things has got is so right and I am only at the begining of the process!

When the Estate Agent that we are using to market our property said the details for it would be available not only on their own website but the Rightmove one as well I must admit it dod not mean a great deal to me, I had heard of it but wasn't really sure why people used it when most Leading Property Agents have their own sights but seeing as my house wouls be on there I had a look at the websight and was pleasantly surprised!

To find the websight I googled 'Rightmove' which gave me a direct link to Rightmoves homepage. The website can be found at :

You are then given the option to look at properties that are for rent or to buy, once you have chosen your option you then are asked to put in the location, I found as I put the first couple of letters in for my location an automatic drop down page appeared and there was my location, all I had to do was click on it for it to take me to the next page.

The next page on the website is where you can narrow down your search criteria, a god tool in my opinion. Search criteria includes:

Search radius ~ How many miles from the original location do you want the website to search

Property Type ~ Detached / Appartment / Bungalow etc..

Min and Max Price ~ Lets you search for properties within your personal price range

Number of bedrooms ~ Lets you give a min and max figure

Once I had narrowed down my search the website then sorts all relevant properties for you, It appears in order of highest price first but you can change this to the lowest if you want. The properties appear with about 10 on each page, each has a single picture, the asking price, agent details and a small description of the property. Each also has a link which then lets you look at more details and also look at other pictures of the property, a brilliant option (and no, I am not just nosey!!)

When you see a property that you want to look at further, you click on the link and it will take you into more detail on the property. Key details of the property are at the top of the page and then the property is explained in detail, you are also given a link to the Agent that the property is advertised with.

I really like the Righmove website, at first I did wonder why you would use it as all Agents have their own pages but it saves so much time having all properties in your price band or style under one search engine rather than having to go and visit all different Agents webpages.

I have found that it is up to date with sold and under offer details as when I have seen that a property is no longer available on the sellers pages , it is showing the same on the Rightmove pages.

In conclusion, if you are looking to move or just see what you can get for your money then it is worthhaving a look a this website, I now fully understand why agents also add your propery to this online facility
