Townends have the craftiest, slimiest people working for them. Just look at them - butter would not melt in their mean mouths. What type of personality must work for them. Someone who is mean, tells lies, pretentious, greedy, back-stabbing, unhelpful money grabbers. (B * T C H E S). Messing around with people's livelihood is disgusting.

They should not charge you Admin fees. Your deposit should be protected by a scheme, it is a legal obligation by the Letting agencies (since April 07).
See a lawyer. I think if they do not pay up within the time (10 - 14 days), they can be taken to court and have to pay 3 times the amount of deposit back to you.
Check with Citizens Advice Bureau or a good Solicitor.
