I can only concur with all the comments on this site regarding Westbury Homes. I spent almost a quarter of a million pounds on one of their "luxury homes" but it came with a snag list as long as your arm - still not repaired after five months. Arrogant staff, an incompetent idiot of a site manger and a smug "you`ll never win attitude" when I threatened legal action after five months of frustration.

When I was buying the property the sales agent was never off the phone to myself and my solicitor once the contracts were exchanged they didn`t want to know. The only way to get things done was to stage a "sit-in" in the site office until the site manager came to see me. Even then it took a huge argument to get some things done which were of a dreadful standard because I was assured things were "built to specification".

Some of the faults I had included:-
an en-suite two different colours
numerous bodged plastering and paint jobs
missing kitchen appliances
missing switches and doorbells
missings locks
two of the showers did not work
front doorstep and floor crumbling away
large holes in the brickwork under the eaves
(resulting in several nests of housemartins nesting in the roof)
a wooden staircase composed of two tone stained and painted panels rather than all wood.
.......and many more.

I would advis
e not signing anything until you see the house in its final build. The staff pressurise you into signing when the house is just a plot number...try not to be that desperate.

Summary:
