Your Move

We sold our house through Your Move in Aug 09. They were slightly cheaper than the others, but don't be persuaded by that! The services we received were 'minimal'. Communication levels were virtually non existent. Potential buyers complained to us during their viewings that it had taken them so long to actually get a viewing organised! Some had been trying for weeks (and we wondered why it had been so quiet!). Hate is a very harsh word, but I would say that I hate your move. My experience with them was nothing short of disgusting and I wish I had never ever bothered using them. It all started a few months ago.... I made an appointment and had a chat with the mortgage advisor; we discussed the options and found a very competitive product which I was happy with, he was a very friendly, knowledgeable character - nice chap. I have been very dissapointed with this agency. I bought a property with them and went through two rounds of lettings with them, as well as used their mortgage advisor. The mortgage advisor was free, spent a lot of time with me, got me an excellent deal and was very professional - this part of their service (or at least this individual) was excellent. The purchase was quite straightforwards; as a first time buyer i think that no major issues were raised because of the simplicity of my purchase, however i would comment that they are very laid back in communications and messages often were not passed on. An estate agent agreed to meet us for a viewing, and the ONLY day and time they could fit us in was at ridicoulouso'clock 10AM on a Sunday morning. To our shock, they did not even turn up! I rang them to find out what had happened and got an anwering machine. Never did we get a call back explaining what had happened. I have used a mortgage advisor from Your Move for over 10 years now. They are really good but have now started charging a fee which is rubbish! It used to be free, then last year it went up to £199 now its jumped to £299 - a lot of money really. As for the estate agency side i cant say theyre very good. As a good mortgage customer i thought i would get decent service when enquiring about and offering on a property. I was wrong.
