Poor communication and support (Your Move)

Disadvantages: expensive, poor service

I have been very dissapointed with this agency. I bought a property with them and went through two rounds of lettings with them, as well as used their mortgage advisor. The mortgage advisor was free, spent a lot of time with me, got me an excellent deal and was very professional - this part of their service (or at least this individual) was excellent. The purchase was quite straightforwards; as a first time buyer i think that no major issues were raised because of the simplicity of my purchase, however i would comment that they are very laid back in communications and messages often were not passed on. As a lettings agency they are not at all selective about who goes in your property - the continual feeling was that they "were happy to say they had filled my property" - that is not what i wanted, i wanted a person who matched the criteria they were given at the start. Secondly, communications were again poor, and on the second lettings going wrong due to their poor selection of indivdual (which was apparent minutes after i met him for the fist time) they were unhelpful and unprofessional; bearing in mind i was paying them management fees i would have expected them to support me not the tenant considering he had trashed the place! Most importantly, I found when i looked around and moved another agency (Wrights - who have been excellent), YourMove is very expensive - the level of charge they ask for does not offer what competitiors offer for a lower price, ie: 8wk inspections, check in/out. This might just be an unfortunate experience i had and this is obviously only my opinion but i would advise any potential uses to look and compare before choosing your agency.
