Advantages: None - none at all - i dont even want to award 1 star..!!
Disadvantages: where do i start - do not use this place
Hate is a very harsh word, but I would say that I hate your move. My experience with them was nothing short of disgusting and I wish I had never ever bothered using them. It all started a few months ago....
I made an appointment and had a chat with the mortgage advisor; we discussed the options and found a very competitive product which I was happy with, he was a very friendly, knowledgeable character - nice chap. That's about as good as it got, it's all downhill from here.
The offer on the house I wanted was being delayed, the greedy buggers wanted more money, I rang your move to get advice, and was told my advisor was on the phone and he would ring me back. No one rang me back and I negotiated the house price myself with no advice from my so called mortgage advisor.
Any way, a few days later my offer had been accepted, however the seller's estate agent INSISTED on having an application in principle from my mortgage provider. They wanted this within the next few days. I rang your move to tell them of this, and was again told my advisor was on the phone and he would ring me back, this was on a Thursday, so I sent my advisor an email with the details stressing the urgency. No one rang or emailed me back on the Friday, and when I called them they said no one was around to help me.
Monday morning I rang your move again, I was told my mortgage advisor was in a meeting all day and unreachable. I insisted on speaking with branch manager, I asked him what was going on, why were messages not being passed on, why was I not being called back when promised? I also asked him if your move were a MICKEY MOUSE company and did they really want my business as I could easily go elsewhere.
I Digress... I was rung back within 15 minutes and promised that an application was going in and an agreement in principle would be faxed to the estate agents asap. This did happen, but only after I had chased it up again.
I was asked to bring in identification and other documents for myself and my partner; I duly obliged and produced this for them immediately - the very next day Infact. My advisor took them, photocopied them and then said he was due on annual leave and wouldn't be back for a little while, but he would ensure a colleague at another branch would take over my case.
His colleague never rang me, I rang them, they had received no document and no identification, I HAD TO START THE WHOLE PROCESS AGAIN EBCAUSE OF THIS. At this point you're thinking, I am a Muppet as all the signs were there that they are indeed a MICKEY MOUSE company, why didn't I just go elsewhere?!!!! I wish I had, I should have realised but I didn't.
Started the whole process again, by now it had been nearly 3 weeks since I started it all. So, over a week and a half later I have heard nothing, no email no letters no phone calls- nothing. I rang the office and they said "we are waiting for you to forward some more info to us" I was gob smacked as I had not had any request from them at all.... I argued the toss and now let me tell you what broke the camels back. (Yes - I know I am a Muppet)
I asked had they actually done anything these last few weeks, had they put an application forward to the back and what product was it? Turns out they hadn't actually done anything for 2 weeks, nothing, zilch nadda.. nowt. So, I had waited a total of over 4 weeks and nothing had actually happened apart from some photocopies being made and me being treated like a clown, or Muppet if you prefer.
The deal for the house collapsed, leaving me feeling gutted.
I've since found a new house and I am in the process of dealing with the bank myself, things are going well.
Summary: Avoid like the plague - seriously id rather bang my head against a brick wall

- 16/09/09 I can't believe your house deal collapsed because of them! I hope you wrote a strongly worded letter of complaint and threatened them with legal action! If only just to scare them! x |

- 14/09/09 Oh dear what a shame you have had such a bad experience. I do hope everything goes well for you. I think it should be made illegal for gazumping right at the last minute. I think its just a way of extorting more moeny out of you. once a price has been agreed it should be honoured. |
