Apple TV 40 GB ... bought one of these second hand from a friend having a clearout. Apple TV is designed to provide a central unit that you can plug into any component or HDMI enabled HDTV to allow you to stream media from your computer to your television. The set up of the device is actually amazingly simple. You plug a HDMI cable from the box to the TV, and a power cable from the box to your power supply. The device then takes you through the setup process, which basically consists of pointing it towards your wireless Network (or if you must, plug in an ethernet cable!). Onkyo TX SR806B ... me, how do they do it for the money? My husband agonised over this (as with all his new tv stuff). He wanted a cinema system to go with the new tellie, so a set of speakers & a separate amp seemed the way to go, but although all the reviews from the likes of What Hi-Fi & such seemed to like this, it just seems too cheap. Well, the performance certainly isn t and it coped very nicely with what we have hooked up to it - LCD tv, Playstation 3 (with blu-ray capabilities) & the Virgin media box. Popcorn Hour A-100 ... media centre has given me and I am sure many others a solution to watching High Definition Media on their LCD/Plasma TV sets. It is a "Streamer" that can stream content up to 1080p. This is done through HDMI on my set, but the back of the unit has the following connections. Ethernet, HDMI in, S/PDIF out, stereo RCA and composite video, S-Video and component video out. I haven t had any problems and installed in mine I have a 500GB Western Digital which is loaded with movies from my personal collection.
