Marantz SR-5000 ... am a big fan of watching films. If I m honest, it is probably my favourite hobby. I love sticking a film on, ignoring the world for a couple of hours and escaping into the world of the film. Sadly I don t get as much time to do this as I would like but there are still occassions when I do. Going to the cinema is ok but it is quite expensive really one you start adding on top all the things that accompany a trip to the cinema, petrol to get there, parking, food, drink etc. It can make for a very expensive hobby really. Sony STR DG710/S ... Sony STR-DE710 is a 6.1 channel AV reciever, that has 2 HDMI inputs with one HDMI output, 2 Digital Optical, 1 digitial coaxial, and 6 phono/composite (Red, white + yellow) inputs. I can confirm that this AV reciever does have HDMI audio, which means you can get Dolby digital or DTS straight from the HDMI cable, if using something like an Xbox 360, PS3, Sky HD or HDMI dvd player. Which is a huge convenience. It reduces the amount of cables that I thought i would need as i don t need the optical cables aswell as the HDMI cables going to the device. The quality of this device is very good for the price range, think i picked mine up for £120. I don t have a sub hooked ...
