RichPrice Pioneer VSX D512-K: ... the neighbours/wake the kids up) etc etc. I’m not a technical expert all I know is that the sound it produces is awesome. You can tell the difference between the different surround modes. Incidentally the Receiver is a 6.1 system. (that means there are 6 satellite speakers)– its’ one of the better sorts of surround sound system. I haven’t got a subwoofer so mine is set up as a 5.1 - it still produces excellent q...

George Yamaha RX-V457
... is a bargain of a receiver. Shares the same decoders are more expensive receivers. The sound is very clean and accurate. This is useful for a receiver. If however you are using is for listening to music, it is good but not perfect. If you listen to just classical and jazz, it would be excellent. However if you like pop and dance, even on the highest bass settings you sometimes wish for some more. However don t think that the bass in however thin, its not. Regardless of tonal settings, this almost never runs our of power. It will only clip and distorting at its limit, its highest volume settings. I wish it had more digital inputs. Has 2 optical, and 1 coaxial. I w...

... bass for a medium prices receiver. My cabinets were shaking after I connected it to my pair of Infinity Reference 3 speakers and a pair of custom made 12" heavy duty bass speakers. The features included with the unit were pretty basic for a receiver but nonetheless, I had to read through my manual to get some sense into the inner working of the receiver. Very minimal distortion, I would say. An overall execellent performance....

homecinemafreak Sony STR DE545
... Sony str-de545 receiver offers allmost everything you need to start your own home cinema. The ratings are fair for the price: 5 x 100 w music power at 8 ohm, dts, dolby digital and dolby prologic. The radio part offers a rds-eon tuner with 30 presets for am and fm total. Due to the rds-eon the receiver can interupt a dvd or other source when traffic information is at hand or news. Personaly i just use the rds function wich identifies the station. The receiver has 2 digital inputs and 1 digital coax input, it can connect : dvd (1 optical digital 1 coax digital) , cd, tape / md / openreel, tv/sat (1 digital input), 5.1 (for example a dvd player with sacd function) , ...
