Advantages: Centralised storage of all media, compact design, clean interface.

Disadvantages: Useless remote. Poor codec support

I have had my apple TV for over 2 years now and I can honestly say there is not a day goes by where I don't use it. I adore the simple and clean interface when browsing my music, movies or TV shows and the fact that they are available at a click of a button without having to change a CD or DVD. It is nice to have your content all in one central hub.

It works seamlessly with iTunes and syncing (storing media on the built in hard drive) is as simple as clicking a tick box. Also streaming media from your PC is efficient even over a 'g' standard network but I wouldn't recommend streaming high definition content over such a network due to the higher bit rate.

I would like to see Apple offer more support for different codecs on the Apple TV but can't see this happening anytime soon.

Another short coming is the tiny white remote that it comes with, it maybe stylish but it is a pain when entering text for searching or passwords.

Summary: A very smooth and underated home cinema option
