The DSM-510 supports High-Definition video in Windows Media Video 9 (WMV9), MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX and DVR-MS formats. Resolutions of up to 720p/1080i can be achieved for best picture quality on a HDTV using the HDMI connection. Standard televisions may also be connected using Scart or Composite Video cables.

The DSM-510 is housed in a small form factor that keeps the cost down, so one can be attached to every television at home. It also includes a USB 2.0 port on the front panel for instant access to multimedia files stored on a removable USB flash drive.
