JVC RX 8022R ... any stereo source. Two modes are available: Movie mode, optimized for movies, and Music mode for creating surround ambience from stereo sources. RX-8022R is ready for multi-channel audio with 5.1-channel analogue input. It accepts the analogue input from a DVD Audio sound source. With RX-8022R, you can conveniently assign digital (optical/coaxial) inputs to any digital source, including DVD, DBS, CD and MD. Besides digital inputs, it comes with an additional digital output for digital-to-digital dubbing. With the RX-8022R, an additional USB audio input lets you connect your Windows PC so that downloads from the Internet are played back by a high-quality amplifier. You can even use the built-in DSP and equalization capabilities to customize the sound to your taste.

Dolby Digital EX, featured in the RX-8022R, creates a 6.1-channel sound with surround back out of the 5.1 discrete channels of Dolby Digital. Surround is now reproduced by three different signals to provide higher definition and a smoother sense of motion. DTS-ES improves 360-degree localization and spatial expression utilizing surround signals that have been further extended. It offers three modes: DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 and DTS Neo: 6 Surround (DTS Neo: 6 Cinema and DTS Neo: 6 Music). An updated high-speed, high-performance Motorola DSP (DSP56367) is incorporated into the RX-8022R. It is capable of executing an accelerated 150MIPS (million instructions per second) and is responsible for decoding Dolby Digital and DTS signals, as well as controlling the JVC-exclusive Digital Acoustics Processing (DAP), Headphone mode and other functions. The additional function is All-channel Stereo DAP, which is great for casual listening and parties, putting music through all speakers in the system and maintaining stereo imaging. The RX-8022R also feature independent in/output terminals for a CD-R recorder. The RX-8022R, furthermore, is equipped with a 5-band digital equalizer for the main channels (control range: ±8dB) and center channel (±6dB) to enhance sound tailoring versatility.

The remote for the RX-8022R is especially convenient: it comes with an LCD display that shows the current source. Its multi-brand capability lets you operate TVs, VCRs, DBS/CATV settop boxes and DVDs from other major brands. While this home cinema receiver is versatile and highly functional, it is also designed to deliver Hi-Fi performance. For instance, the solid Z-Chassis improves rigidity to cut triple sources of sound degradation - vibration, resonance and interference - to zero.
