Home THX is the version optimized for playback at home: it takes into consideration the spatial and acoustic differences between home and theatres to compensate for them by digital processing. Moreover, to be Home THX-certified, the equipment's amplifier must also perform in compliance with specified requirements.

The RX-DP10R is THX Surround EX-compatible and has a built-in 7-channel amplifier. THX surround EX is a format that has additional left and right surround back channels on the basis of Dolby Digital 5.1 channels. It improves the definition and sense of movement of sounds in rear channels. An updated high-speed, high-performance Motorola DSP (DSP56367) is incorporated into the RX-DP10R. It's capable of executing an accelerated 150MIPS (million instructions per second). It's responsible for decoding Dolby Digital and DTS signals, as well as controlling the JVC-exclusive Digital Acoustics Processing (DAP), Headphone mode and other functions. The DAP (Digital Acoustics Processor) allows precise recreation of the acoustic feel of halls and spaces in your room. JVC developed a new sound field simulation technology jointly with one of Japan's leading concert hall designers and contractors. Thanks to the high-performance DSP and high-capacity memory, you can enjoy 7.1-channel surround even from 2 channel or 5.1 channel sources.
