	Sherwood RD-6106R ... picked this amplifier up in June 2001 for £200 from Richer Sounds in Liverpool. It does everything I want it to do for me: Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding DTS 5.1 decoding Dolby Prologic decoding Switchable composite video inputs Optical and Coaxial inputs I was blown away by the performance of this amp compared to my Sharp Pro-Logic hifi system. DVDs equipped with DTS tracks will sound amazing on this amplifier with its performance matching that of amplifiers costing much than this one. My main issues with it though consist of it having no TV based menu system, there is only an LCD display on the front of the amp to configure the elements of it. Also, the remot... 	Sony STR-DB 840 QS ... is in fact the second Sony AV amp I have purchased - the first being the STR-DE445. That particular machine did not stay in my home for long due to the "python effect" (see my review of this machine for full explanation). I'm glad I took the gamble and got this machine ? I had considered giving up after the disaster of the STR-DE445 but I took my heart in my hand - along with another 100 notes and upgraded to the STR-DB840.
