The DPL 500 is a solidly constructed and thus weighty unit that is suited to putting in one location and leaving it there. The performance is excellent with clear crisp sound through both the decoders. The 50 watts per channel power output is more than adequate for the average lounge room.Clean lines and clear panel layout and labelling make for simple selection manually of the functions desired. As with most multi-functional units the remote control has a plethora of functions and as the main use of the unit is likely to be when watching movies on a large screen TV it is simpler to use the TV remote to control volume unless you want to sit and go through all the other functions of the DLP500 at that time. All in all DLP500 is a well designed, attractive unit suited for use in the average home theatre setup.
