This is a bargain of a receiver. Shares the same decoders are more expensive receivers. The sound is very clean and accurate. This is useful for a receiver. If however you are using is for listening to music, it is good but not perfect. If you listen to just classical and jazz, it would be excellent. However if you like pop and dance, even on the highest bass settings you sometimes wish for some more. However don't think that the bass in however thin, its not.
