Advantages: Capable of driving some speakers, rated less than 8-ohms. Very linear sound.

Disadvantages: I wish you could up the bass higher.

This is a bargain of a receiver. Shares the same decoders are more expensive receivers. The sound is very clean and accurate. This is useful for a receiver. If however you are using is for listening to music, it is good but not perfect.

If you listen to just classical and jazz, it would be excellent. However if you like pop and dance, even on the highest bass settings you sometimes wish for some more. However don't think that the bass in however thin, its not.

Regardless of tonal settings, this almost never runs our of power. It will only clip and distorting at its limit, its highest volume settings.

I wish it had more digital inputs. Has 2 optical, and 1 coaxial. I wish it had more than 5.1 analog input. What is the point of 5.1, if this is 6.1 receiver.

This is my second receiver. My Onkyo is better, but then again that receiver is not in the same class as this one with almost double the power. This is perfect for small and medium sized rooms. I would recommend it.

Summary: A true bargain of a receiver. Can be driven hard.
