Spicy Ground Beef Chilli Con Carne
Ground beef makes so much more than burgers and spaghetti bolognese. Below is my favourite easy recipe using one pound of ground beef. This recipe for Spicy chilli con carne is made using just one pan and takes about forty minutes. You will find smoky, fiery chipolte pepper in the spice section of larger supermarkets. If you like spicy food you will love this. If you like your food less spicy you can use natural yogurt or less of the chipolte pepper to make it less spicy.
Ingredients
1lb (450g) ground beef
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon tomato puree
1 onion peeled and chopped
3 chopped tomatoes
1 teaspoon finely chopped pepper in adobo sauce
300ml (10floz) vegetable stock
1 x 400g can black beans, drained and rinsed
Method
1. Heat the oil in a large non-stick pan.
2. Cook the beef and onion until golden brown (about ten minutes).
3. Stir in the tomato puree tomatoes and chipolte, followed by the stock.
4. Leave to simmer for fifteen minutes.
5. Stir in black beans and cook for another five minutes.
Serve with warm crusty bread and grated cheese. Prepare to be surprised this recipe is really delicious and so easy to make. Hope you enjoy my Spicy Beef Chilli Con Carne recipe.
