Advantages: Yummmmmmmmmmmmmy
Disadvantages: Don't make them if you are on a diet as you won't be able to stop eating them.
In case you are wondering, Blondies are just Brownies but with white chocolate, and yes, they are just as yummy, although very sweet!!!
You will need:
125g White Chocolate
100g butter
285g caster sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
150g roughly chopped macadamia nuts
225g white chocolate chunks or chips
175g plain flour
1.Pre-heat the oven gas mark 5, 190ºC.
2.Grease and line a large swiss roll tin, or if you haven't got one use a square baking tin (as they will be deeper they will need cooking for longer)
3.Melt the white chocolate and butter in a pan.
4.Remove from heat and stir in the sugar until it is dissolved.
5.Add the eggs, one at a time, and the vanilla and mix.
6.Beat in the flour thoroughly until smooth.
7.Stir in the chocolate chunks and nuts.
8.Pour mixture in to lined tin and bake for 30 minutes.
9.When they are done if you poke a knife in the centre of the blondies it should come out sticky (not clean like other cake recipes). They should be light golden on top.
10.When cool remove lining paper and cut into squares and stuff in your face!!!!
The secret to all brownies/blondes is not to over cook them so they are still gooey inside.
These are also delicious with any other nuts, try pecans, hazel nuts or anything you fancy.
Bear in mind, both blondies and brownies, although completely delicious and moreish, are very calorific, but who cares when they are soooooooo tasty.
Summary: white chocolate brownies

- 11/11/08 Yummmmmm. Will have to try this one but after I ran 1500 miles to burn off all the calories that i've just consumed with my homemade shortbread! Don't think scoffing all of the blondies in the same week as my shortbread would be a good idea. Great recipe, thank you |
