STARTER!!
*********

For as long as i can remember this crumble has been a family favourite of the children.I always had trouble finding the right pudding to feed them,as they wont eat anything you buy from the supermarket that is out of a packet,or frozen.
Then i remembered this recipe, took a chance and cooked it for them! Success, they just loved it,especially Lewis and fast became a favourite of his even to this day. There a various variations you can do to it,including,Rhubarb, blackberry, pear, peach, strawbe rry and plum.

Here is my recipe for it.This will make six good sized portions.
************************************************* ******************

INGREDIENTS FOR THE FILLING!
**************************************
780g (1 1/2lb) cooking apples.peeled,and cut into chunks.
50g (2oz) dark brown demerara sugar.
4 Large ripe plums, remove stones, and cut into slices.
Pinch of cinnamon.

TOPPING INGERDIENTS!
****************************
150g (5oz) Plain white flower.
90g (3 1/2oz) of cold unsalted butter,cut into pieces.
75g (3oz) Soft brown sugar.
50g (2oz) Rolled oats
A small pinch of salt.

METHOD!
***********
Pre-heat your oven to 200C/400F/Gas Mark 6.For a fan oven pre-heat to 180C/360F.
Put your apples into a medium sized saucepan with the sugar and cook over a low heat for around 5-6 minutes, then add the plums and cook for a further minute or two.
Then when your apples and plums are cooked, remove from the heat and put aside to make the crumble.
Remember to wash your hands first please!

Mix together the flour and salt, then rub in the butter to the mixture with your fingers so it resembles the look of breadcrumbs.
Now stir in the sugar and oats.
Next spoon the fruit miture into a medium deep ovenproof dish (I would use a dish approx 25x20cm/10x8inch).Then cover with the crumble mix and bake in the oven for 30minutes.For a fan oven i would recommend you cook it for 25 minutes or until light golden brown.

When ready serve hot, with either ice-cream,custard or fresh cream.

Hope you enjoy! xxxxxxx

Summary: You will love this as much as we do!
