Advantages: Quick,easy to make.

Disadvantages: You may get your hands sticky when making the truffles

For a quick and easy dessert, i find that using basic ingedients you can find on any shelf always make a nice treat, and you can give the dessert a complex name and look!

The trick to making a dessert is appearance. For example, a slice of cheesecake is a slice of cheesecake, but you can add fruit on the side of the plate, decoratively cover the dessert in sauce and add decorations, and the dessert will look fantastic.

A quick but easy, healthy and decorative dessert is a fruit bucket, or if you wish to make it seem a little complex, call it secchio di frutta.

1. Cut a gala melon in half, and scoop out the seeds, and place them on plates.

2.Fill the middle of each half of the melon with rasberries, grapes, cherries, strawberries or any other small bite size fruits you can think of.

3.drizzle strawberry sauce over the melon, and decorate around the melon with chocolate truffles (method below)

4. This dessert goes well with a glass of champagne,or a glass of malibu, but for a fancy dinner party, champagne would be the better option.

for the truffles, you can also call them tartufi di cioccolata, simply follow the method below:

1.put 13 digestive biscuits into a plastic freezer bag, spread them around evenly.

2. twist the open end of the bag to secure the buscuits and hold firmly. Using a rolling pin, crush the biscuits into fine crumbs (repeat for how many you wish to make, one bagful can make as much as 40 truffles depending on the size you wish to make the truffles)

3.put a bowl of 100g of chocolate and 30g of butter into a bowl, and microwave for one minute, decrease the time as the chocolate melts so not to burn it.(increase amount accordingly to the biscuit mix)

4.when the butter and chocolate have melted completely, stir them and add to a large bowl, along with the biscuit crumbs. stir all the mixture together, making sure the chocolate has mixed throughout the bowl. You can also add a small measure of rum, brandy or any preferred alcohol to the mix.

5.take a spoon, and take the amount of mixture you would like to create a small-medium truffle.Roll the mixture in your hands into a small ball shape, and cover in dessicated coconut, or chocolate powder.

6.Repeat method 5 until all the mixture is gone.If you have too many truffles, they can be refrigerated to be stored.

I hope you try this dessert, you will enjoy it! Good luck readers!

Summary: A quick dessert that is healthy and tastes fantastic.

This sounds lovely, but I don't think you will find many of these things on my kitchen shelves! :-)
