Advantages: they are 15 x eggs. Simple
Disadvantages: Cage layed
I really wish the packs of Tesco Value Eggs still had "WARNING: CONTAINS EGG" printed on them (as they used to when all the food labelling for allergies began to be almost paranoidly printed on all foods incase someone with an egg allergy tried to make a claim.. (the mind really boggles)).
Alas, upon my last purchase of Tesco Value eggs, I excitedly checked the box for this little amusing anecdote but to my dismay it doesn't state that it contains egg. Fortunately, I am not allergic to egg.
I have noticed recently in local supermarkets the price of eggs seems to have gone mental. I used to be able to buy 6 eggs for 55p, now its £1.89 for 6 in my local Sainsburies. Which in my opinion is a pretty hefty hike in price.
I have wondered if I would save money buy buying a chicken and hoping it will lay some eggs, unfortunately, as I don't have a garden, this is impractical. In the absence of an egg laying furry friend, Tesco Value eggs are a good budget alternative. The eggs are all, ...........eggs. The usual small to medium sized, pinky brown cage layed eggs with a yolk and an egg white that you expect to find with ... eggs.
They are a good buy if, like me, you find paying £1.89 for a box of 6 eggs morally worse than the fact they aren't free range.
Summary: good cheap box of eggs
