Advantages: If sex had a taste....... Hold on a minute........

Disadvantages: Its bad.......... Dont check the calories

I made such a lovely valentines day meal for my boy i really wanted to share it with you. Fish is the food of love and as both the mussels and the prawns are finger foods it makes a fun and sexy meal for the special day. Its quite expensive so best kept for special occasions unless you are moneybags himself!!

I am also trying to forget quite how fattening this dish is, between the cream sauce and prawns you might as well give up weight watchers for good! But dont let me put you off before youve even read the recipe as this meal really is a treat.

Cost: £15 - £18
Serves: 2
Cooking time: Half an hour

Ingredients:

King prawns with Chilli lime dipping sauce:

20 Large good quality prawns
2 Cloves garlic - crush
3 Tbs Olive oil
2 Tbs fresh Lime Juice
2 Tbs water
2 Tsp Thai fish sauce
2 Tsp Sugar
1 Red Chille

Mussels:

800g Fresh Mussels
250 ml White Wine
Half a red onion
2 Cloves Garlic - crushed
150 ml Double Cream
25 g Butter
Handfull Fresh chopped Parsley
French stick

Method:

De-beard and scrub the mussels, remove any that are already open.
De-seed and finely chop the chilli
Mix the lime juice, water, fish sauce, sugar and chopped chilli in a small serving dish and set to one side.
Finely chop the red onion
Add the wine to a Large hot pan, add the onion and 2 crushed garlic cloves, once simmering add the mussels, place a lid on top and leave on a medium heat for 5 mins.
Heat up the Olive oil in a frying pan.
Add the other 2 crushed garlic cloves
When very hot stir fry the prawns for 5 mins.
Place them in serving bowl and set to one side.
Remove the mussels from the broth and discard any that hav'nt opened. place them in a large serving bowl.
Turn up the heat under the broth to high and reduce the mixture by about a quarter.
Stir in the cream, butter and parsley
Pour evenly over the mussels.

To serve:

Tear up the french stick roughly so you can mop up the gorgeous creamy mussel sauce. You dont need cutlery for this just a finger bowl as it can get a little sticky and you dont need individual plates just eat straight from the serving bowls. Its also a great idea to serve the rest of the bottle of wine with the meal as youve only used a little for the mussel sauce and wine is a great accompniment to fish dishes.

The meal is Best served on a low table so you can sit on the floor next to each other, i also decorated with little tea lights for the romantic touch.

OHHHHHH Feel the Love..................

Summary: Fattening, Expensive, You know its gonna be good!!!
