Now I am not a major meat fan so when I eat it I do make sure it is cooked fully and that I buy the best meat that I can. Here is my recipe for lovely tomato burgers and chunky chips.

Ingredients:

Mince Meat
Can of Chopped Tomatoes
Onion
Worcester Sauce
Tomato Puree
Beef Stock Cube
Potatoes
Oil
Chilli Powder (optional)

Steps:

1. Bring a pan of water to the boil.
2. Chop the potatoes into to chunky pieces and pop in the boiling water for 10 minutes while you do the next steps.
3. Preheat the oven to about 220 or Gas Mark 8 and put a baking tray in there. It is good to spray the baking tray with a little oil too.
4. Grab however much mince meat you need which is usually dependant on how many you are cooking for. I usually get 250g pack of mince for 2 people to give you an idea. Put the mince in a bowl.
5. Chop the onion into very thin pieces and then add to the mince bowl.
6. Now it is time to get your hands a little dirty as you have to mix the onion and mince together.
7. Then shape the onion / mince mixture into burgers.
8. Place the burgers either frying on a saucepan or under a medium heated grill until all of the mince has browned and the burgers are practically ready to eat.
9. While the burgers are cooking. Drain the potatoes and then put them on the heated baking tray. If they make a hissing sound that is great and they will turn out nice and crispy.
10. If you fancy adding a bit of spice then put some chilli powder on top of them.
11. The potatoes are then put on a top shelf of the oven for about 15 minutes until they are nice, browny and crispy.
12. Then in a oven proof dish put the chopped tomatoes, a splash of Worcester sauce and about a tablespoon of tomato puree.
13. Put the burgers in the middle of this mixture and then cover them with bits of the mixture. These are then placed on a lower shelf of the oven with the chips.
14. After everything is done, take everything out of the oven and plate up, even putting a lot of the sauce on the plates with the burgers.

Now this recipe is delicious and it makes a difference to make your own burgers and chips. Even if you choose not to put oil on the baking tray, the chips will turn out very nice and then they are completely healthy chunky chips. Even better!

The taste of the burgers is delicious as the onion give them a bit of crunch and then the tomato sauce is extremely nice and a bit different.

I would recommend having some bread with this meal or having a bit of a side salad. For someone who doesn't eat much meat I could eat these all of the time.

Enjoy!!!

Thanks for reading.
