During my time a few weeks back where I was rapidly running out of money and had very limited supplies to cook with me and my flatmates stumbled upon a simple, easy and absolutely delicious recipe. It is a Sausage and Tomato Pie and it was amazing.

What you need is a pack of sausages, about 8 of them, that filled 3 people up for us. Then you need about 4 Tomatoes and a few onions and 6 or so potatoes.

First things first you need to either skin the sausages and boil them for 10 minutes and then fry for 5 minutes or you can simply fry them with the skin on, it doesn't really matter. After cooking the sausages, depending on which way you cooked them you either mash them up (If you skinned and boiled them) or you can just cut them up and layer them on the bottom of an ovenproof dish.

The next layer is the first layer of onions, fry the onions and spread about half of them over the sausages.

Peel the potatoes and boil them until soft, drain them and add a bit of cream of milk before mashing them. You can add other things to taste as well, cheese or garlic works well. Spread all this mash over the sausages and onions and then layer the rest of the onions over the mash. Then you just slice the tomatoes and place them on top of the pie.

Cover the dish and throw it in a pre-heated over at about 200 Celsius for 15 minutes. After that take the cover off the dish and sprinkle some grated cheese on top before putting it back in the oven for another 15 minutes, with the cover off.

Serve it up and enjoy a delicious, cheap and easy to cook meal.

Summary: Very nice meal that can be made by anyone.
