Usually I like to eat my beef, in the form of a rare steak. Lovely big sirloin, flash fried on both sides. I guess I am some kind of modern vampire, who's struck by the thought of being a bit posh. however, I am the only one in my house who can take beef this way. So I have had to search and search for a way to eat beef that we all ...  Read the complete review

I spent many years as a student, too many in fact, but many good things came out of those years in preparing me for the 'real world', as they say. One of these was survival in the kitchen. I don't profess to be the greatest chef in the world, and my 12 years or so in catering no doubt helps. But when faced with a kitchen and needing to cook ...  Read the complete review

I made this curry, I didn't quite have all the spices so I changed it slightly but it still tasted fantastic. It was very simple to make and I made enough to put another 2 portions in the freezer which tasted even better than the first lot.

My favourite beef dish is a stir fry that goes equally well with either rice or noodles however personally I prefer noodles with this dish. The other option is to buy some wraps and heat these through before serving. For best results it is a good idea to cut the beef into strips a few hours before you are going to make the dish and ...  Read the complete review

When I was married and used to make a lot of curries at home, my ex husband was forever nagging me to make them hotter and hotter. One day, when yet again I hadn't made the curry hot enough, he asked me if I'd think about making a chilli. He'd had one in the canteen at his workplace, and declared it delicious (bear in mind this was in the mid ...  Read the complete review

this dish has been well and truly tried and tested in our family. from experience I'd say children love to help making this mainly because of the crisp-smashing - but they also love to eat it if they've helped to make it. the pie is not for the health conscious due to its high calorie content, but is a very filling and tasty ...  Read the complete review

I have a bit of an addiction to hearty, filling soups. Especially at this time of year and with this abysmal weather we've been having on the coast. A few years ago I decided to make Tuscan sausage and bean soup, but was a tad too lazy to find a recipe, and made it from scratch and memory. What I actually ended up with was an extremely ...  Read the complete review
