This is a desssert I shall serve for christmas day I am having a small family party

I have served this as an alternative to Christmas pudding for the last couple of years I have some prunes ready for the same this year.
I think the brandy and cinnamon in it make it smell and taste really Christmassy.

Ingredients
250g prunes/plums
250g dried apricots you can use only prunes if you have no apricots.
1 cup orange juice
1 cup water
grated rind of 1 lemon or orange
1/4 cup brandy or port
1 cinnamon stick
1/4 cup brown sugar

I shall use not use dried prunes but ones in a bag that hubby bought. I shall cut them in half.
I shall put the other ingredients in a pan then bring to the boil reduce the heat and simmer for a little while not long enough to make the fruit mushy. You can after it has boiled put the ingredients into a bowl place it in the oven at 180c for about 15-20 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick don't eat it.
I shall serve it warm the left over can be eaten cold. I shall serve with cream and thin ginger biscuits.

This is a really fantastic smelling pudding and tastes good. I made some not using alchohol just orange juice for the children
.

Summary: A spicy alchoholic alternative to christmas pud
