Advantages: very different still not very difficult.

Disadvantages: could be spicy for some, quails might not be easily available

I haven't noticed anyone write a rceipe on quail and i hope i am not wrong in writing in the poultry section!
Quail roast is not like a traditional sunday roast meal- it is more like pan fried chicken but very tasty and spicy. If you dont like spicy food i recommend that you omit the red chillies and just add litlle paprika.

Preparation Time : 30mins
Cooking Time : 30mins
Serves / Makes : 2

Ingredients
Quail- 2
Salt- 1tsp (or as required)
Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Green chilli- 2
Red chilli (dried)- 2
Ginger- 1cm
Garlic- 2 pods
Lemon/tamarind paste- 1tsp
onion- 1/2
curry leaves-10-12 (optional)
Oil- 2 tbsp

Method
1. Clean the birds and cut it into half.
2. Grind a paste with green chillies, red chillies, garlic, ginger, lemon/tamarind paste.
3. marinate the quail halves with the marinate and salt for half hour.
4. In a nonstick pan heat oil, add curry leaves and onion.
5. Brown the onions.
6. Now add the quails and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 8-10 mins.
7. Now add rest of the marinade and keep stirring to fry the quail very well. it should start browning.
8. Once it is cooked well and the marinade is all dried, the dish is ready.
9. Place the halves on a serving dish, put the browned onions from the pan over it. garnish with coriander and lemon wedges.

Tips -
Quail is a small and very tender bird- a little on the bony side. Take care while cooking not to overcook it as it doesn't take as long as chicken to get cooked.
It is available in supermarkets in poultry and meat sections or sometimes in the local market.

i hope you try and let me know how it was.

Summary: You should definitely try it and if when you do just let me know- i would love to know how it went.
