Advantages: Everything.

Disadvantages: The expense of the brandy.

When I was little my mum asked me if I wanted to try prawn. I don't know why but I said 'Yes'. I was a very fussy eater and prawns aren't exactly the highlight of any 'fussy eaters' list. I popped one on my tongue, held my breath and swallowed whole. I didn't taste it at all and when my mum asked if I liked it I said 'Yes'. I didn't at all! It was the texture that put me off. From that day forward she began to make a nice Prawn Cocktail every Christmas Eve. We would all sit down for our traditional Christmas eve meal and my mum would hand everyone a lovely pink coloured substance in a glass bowl. As the years went by I did learn to love it and here I am giving you a guys a review on it. Ah how things change!

Prawn Cocktail has to be one of the easiest and most effective starters I know and the great thing is you can prepare it earlier in the day so you aren't stressed out with having to cook the starter and main all at one time. I came across this Prawn Cocktail when I was having lunch at my friends a while ago and have been addicted to it ever since.

You will need:
5 tablespoons of mayonaise
3 tablespoons of red sauce
A bag of prawns
Cayenne Pepper
1 Avocado
Iceburg lettuce
Brandy
Lemon

How to prepare it
1) Add the mayonaise to the red sauce.
2) Add a dash of brandy to the sauce.
3) Add the sauce to the prawns.
4) Chop up a small amount of lettuce and put it in a bowl.
5) Chop up an avocado into chunks.
6) Carefully spoon the prawns on top of the lettuce.
7) Arrange the avocado chunks around the prawns.
8) Sprinkle a little cayenne pepper on top of the prawns.

It's as simple as that and you won't believe how nice it tastes. The brandy gives it a bit of a kick that you don't normally get with a Prawn Cocktail and the Pepper leaves a nice hot taste in your mouth.

It's the best I've tasted yet!

Summary: A lovely prawn cocktail with a difference.

I hate prawns, mayonnaise and avocado so this is my idea of hell, but glad you like it!
