Advantages: It's cheap, It's easy , I like it
Disadvantages: none that I can think of
Firstly sorry for the bad play on words, but I had to get your attention somehow and other than cooking this naked , which I wouldn't subject you to, that was the only way I could think of: The dish was shown me by my good mate Dave who is a trainee chef, I am hardly a domestic goddess, so if I can do it you can. Have you washed your hands? Come here and show me those nails. Tsk tsk! have you been coal mining? While you wash your hands again , I will get the ingredients from the cupboard. We have: Grape seed oil or something similar A tin of chopped tomatoes Cheese (preferably mild) 1 portion of Cheese ( preferably goats or Danish Blue) 1 good head of Brocolli 12 Mushrooms 3 Fresh tomatoes 3 table spoons of Basil (dried or fresh) 1 Red Onion 2 cloves of Garlic 3 large peppers Precooked pasta drained and cooled Small tub of single cream Salt and black pepper You will need to have the following utensils and items clean (This is a very important distinction to make in a student house, I am not implying that all your kitchens are a hovel as mine was) A chopping board A good sharp knife A cheese grater A large fying pan or wok A large baking tray A fish slice A wooden or large spoon I tend to prepare all the ingredients before hand as the actual cooking of the meal is easy peasy lemon squeezy Ok so firstly poor a litle grape oil in the frying pan and add the brocolli shopped or broken ito fairly small chunks (Brocolli shinks when it is roasted or fried so bear this in mind) Basically stirfry this for about a minute then add the peppers. I then usually add the onion and the garlic cloves, which a nicely crushed. If you do not have a garlic crusher you can use two teaspoons to do the trick. Turn the hob down to a low heat and add the chopped tomatoes, before adding this it is important to add that you need to
drain half the juice away. Finally add the basil and the cream until the mixture is dark pink. Add seasoning to taste. Get the precooked pasta out of the frige and place in the bootom of the deep baking tray. Poutr the mixture over the pasta and lastly grate enough cheese to cover the whole thing. Decorate the top with the fresh tomatoes, more mushrooms and sprinkle with basil. You can also add small pieces of goat's cheese or Danish Blue to taste. Place in a preheated oven at Gas Mark 5 for around twenty minutes. Enjoy! One baking tray usually serves four people or one very hungry Pepperann OOOOOOOOOps i have put this in the wrong place, typical me , have moved it to the Veggie section. Sorry!
