Toasted Bacon and Cheese Stick (Sandwich)

Advantages: Fills you up

You've been out for a few drinks with friends, those "few" drinks become 4 or 5 then those lagers become cider, then you move on to vodka, you get home at 3 in the morning and your hungry. You've managed to bypass the kebab shops on the way home but you fancy something to eat when you get home.

You have a quick raid of the cupboards and find a few ingredients.

Firstly grab a few rashers of bacon and fry or grill them to your usual specification, I like it really crispy but other people I know like it soft. While your doing that heat the oven to gas mark 5.

Secondly you grab some french stick, cut about 8 inches off and then slice in half, long ways of course.

Grab whatever cheese you can get your hands on, and cut into very thin slices.

Once the bacon is cooked to your liking, remove it from the grill / frying pan.

Cut the bacon into strips and mix it with the cheese and then fill your french stick, I find adding a bit of olive oil on to the bread helps add to the taste as well. I also like to add a few cherry tomatos sliced thinly in to the mix as well

Add a bit of pepper, then cook for about seven minutes in the oven, this will melt the cheese and crisp up the bread.

I'd reccomend cooking on tin foil as this saves you any washing up of the oven the next day.

After seven minutes, remove from oven and eat rapidly.

Enjoy.

Remember to turn off all hobs etc after finishing.

Summary: Bacon+ cheese + french stick = Bliss
