My favourite recipies are simple, basically because to be honest I'm lazy! So when it comes to making sandwiches they need to have only a couple of ingredients but still be tasty. My favourite that i've found so far is cheese and apple. I prefer it on white bread but of course wholemeal will be fine,also the breads with seeds in would be nice. You need to use a good reasonably strong flavoured cheddar, simply slice the cheese, put on the bread, take a nice crisp eating apple (red or green) also slice and place on top,other slice of bread on top-job done. See told you it was simple! You don't even need to butter the bread if you don't want to!
I love ploughmans lunches and cheese and apple goes so well together. Another variation is cheese and grape (if you can be bothered to slice the grapes or they just roll out the edges)
Jamie Oliver would despair at my culinary skills but at least this sandwich has one of your five a day in it :-)
