A long story involving a broken TV and reading the small print I found myself in credit with Curry s to the tune of £600. I was the unhappy owner of a tall freestanding white fridge freezer that needed regular defrosting as the fan in the freezer kept stalling and freezing. Out of warranty, no insurance on it. Candy CFLE5485S ... after moving house I decided to make a change to hopefully reduce electricity bills a little, and purchase a dedicated refrigerator along with a separate freezer unit, rather than a fridge-freezer. After looking through various online catalogues, I finally found something that fit the bill. I didn t want a fridge with a freezer compartment - I find these freezer compartments often are a real nuisance, as they fill with ice, and take up valuable fridge space, and never get used to their full potential. Rangemaster RSXS668 ... HUGE problem with ours. When we close the fridge door, the air pressure opens the freezer door. Sometimes this closes and sometimes it doesn t. Obviously when it doesn t, you can come back and find that all the food with in has defrosted! We talked to the selling agent about this on one occasion and they told us there was nothing that can be done. If you are buying to think that this is a useful freezer, then you might want to think again. Awkwardly shaped and with a lot of space taken up for the ice maker, it is easily filled up.
