Advantages: Looks lovely
Disadvantages: Unreliable in spite of being so expensive
I also am disappointed with my AEG Santo 72348 KA. It is five years old and has broken down. The service centre says the Circuit Board has failed and will cost £162 to repair. This same fault is described on a number of consumer sites & reviews, suggesting a problem with Santo circuit boards.
Had the failure occurred in a part subject to everyday wear and tear, or had the fridge been inexpensive I would not have minded, but I would certainly expect such an expensive fridge to last longer than five years. Unfortunately AEG do not agree, and will not contribute to repairs of fridges over two years even though the same fault is occurring in other Santo fridges as well.
I have belatedly read the Which? review of fridges and freezers and discovered that AEG is half way down the reliability chart. I can buy one of the most reliable brands for a little more than the cost of my Santo repair.
I won't be buying any more AEG appliances.
Summary: Not worth spending so much money for a fridge that looks good but is unreliable.

- 05/04/09 Welcome to Dooyoo. A fair opinion here but more info about the model for future buyers would be good here such as:
Capacity
Noise
Easy to clean
UK price you paid?
By all means tie in the info regarding the reliability/problems with this model. Generally though AEG is owned by Electrolux. Sometimes the data revealed by Which? can't always be trusted; our Electrolux frost free/fridge/freezer has lasted 14 years and still going. No problems apart from the plastic boxes being broken.
If you update your review pls msg me.
