This was the fridge freezer that came with my student flat and it has been brilliant. Aesthetically, it looks very modern with its curved edges. The door continues up slightly past the top of the fridge which makes it easy to open from above. Most importantly, the seals on the doors work very well, the doors always shut firmly.
The efficiency of the machine is amazing at an 'a' class. You wouldn't think it, but it makes a difference to your quarterly electric bill. It is a pretty quiet machine too. Some condensation is produced inside the fridge but it is a small amount and drains quickly through a hole at the bottom of the fridge.
Inside is really sturdy, the side door is more than capable of holding heavy milk and juice cartons. The same can be said of the shelves which feel well made. A strange feature is that the fridge and freezer temperatures are controlled with one dial. Although this is unusual I felt like it did not affect the performance of the unit. A brilliant feature is that you will not have to defrost the freezer, as it is frost free. There is also a quick freeze compartment at the top which is handy to put fresh shopping in. There is a decent amount of room in the freezer and again the drawers are well made. A tray at the top is also reserved for making ice cubes.
Overall, the Beko fridge/freezer is very well made and reliable and I highly recommend it.
Noisy in use, and started ice-ing up after about 18 months even though meant to be frost free! Freezer does not get cold enough anymore, more like having two fridges. Will not make ice cubes, just chilled water!!!! NOT RECOMMENDED
I have had this item for some time now. I must admit not a terrible amount of thought went into it when i purchased it. My previous fridge freezer had finally packed in, bang in the middle of the hottest week of the year and i went online and brought it. i knew i wanted a freezer with the frost free option. this meant there was no build up of ice or frost and i never needed to defrost it! i wanted an energy efficient fridge but didn't want to pay through the nose for keeping green. and this was the first fridge meeting all those requirements. so i had it delivered as quickly as possible and i have had absolutely no problems with it. It's quiet and has always worked well. its roomy without looking ridiculous and is indeed energy efficiency grade A so i am in fact "keeping Green!" In the end i paid £290 for this from currys. They delivered in to me within just a few days. It has three removable shelves and you can easily adjust which height you would like them to be at. Providing you can open the door fully (i say this only because my door opens into a wall as I have a tiny kitchen!) they are easy to slide in and out. They have always been quite easy to clean, in or out of the fridge. It has two basket containers at the bottom which also slide in and out with ease and again are wuite easy to clean in or out of the fridge. I have always tended to take all shelves and baskets out of the firdge, give them a wipe over and pop them back in, but in a rush they are easy to wipe over. The freezer has four draws which hold a surprising amount! The frost free function does indeed keep my freezer frost free and i have never had any problems with the freezer compartment. It also has a separate ice compartment at the top of the freezer which is handy!
We purchased this fridge freezer for our last house from Comet about 15 months ago. We had seen it advertised at the reasonable price (if memory serves me right about £299). We were looking for a top and bottom appliance, white preferrably though i do remember seeing a similar model in silver, i just think white looks cleaner. The best "added feature" was of course the water cooler built into the front. It would of course have been nice to have this connected to a mains water supply, and I did find it was a little limiting on the glass size you could put under the tap.
The freezer space was good, with 4 decent sized draws, the fridge was of a similar size, which suited us fine as we kept more frozen food than frash, though I can see that this might become a problem to families where this is not the case.
The energy efficiency was OK, not great but not the worst. Not a hassle to install and a decent first time buy for any family.
Very easy to clean
I first bought this Fridge through comet for £304 including bank holiday delivery and a years guarentee. Great features for the price with a water dispenser, two salad trays 3 shelves, and good ample 4 shelves in the freezer.Nice easy thermostat dial with 1-5 on it to trun the temperature accordingly.Guys from comet came and put it in really quick and within3 hours it was full of food. The frost free and auto defrost features help alot to leave the fridge to itself. The fridge looks fantastic in silver and has a good quality look to it,the plastic mechanism on the water dispenser feels a bit cheap but its abasic and does its job.refilling the water storage isnt a problem either just take the water container out and take the lid off and fill.Very easy
but here is where the problem started, after two months our fridge packed in,took two days for comet to come out.said that they would have it repaired within a week and that they had to order a part.Well the day before the day it was due to be repaired we had a phone call saying oh we cant get the part you will have to wait another ten days. this is during the middle of sumemr with no fridge.we asked for a refund as it ws only two months old ,only to be told well we cant because it will be fixed with in our 14 working day policy.(it was fixed on the 13th day funilly enough).Fridge works fine but not looking forward to next summer.Dont buy from comet, and spend an extra few pound on a more reliable Fridge
