Advantages: Size, ease of use, Price, efficiency

Disadvantages: Cost a lot to fill

When our old Fridge had all but died mum decided to get a new fridge freezer, she had started to work away and as me and my brother are terrible cooks she's decided she needed extra freezer space to go with the stand alone one we have. Frozen meals are something we can both do so of course extra freezer space added to a large fridge was perfect to help us feast whilst she was out. Coming in at around £320 when she bought it from Comet (or Curry's I can never remember which one is which) it was quickly filled with meals, sausages and chips in the bottom, yet it took a lot more than we seemed to realise. The stand alone freezer we had seemed to then be used for ice cream, lolly's and the puddings sort of things, whilst the freezer here seemed solely for food stuff, it's currently full of Chinese ready meals and Potato Wedges.

The Fridge (which after all had been the original reason she bought it) was huge, easily the same size if not bigger than the original fridge, with 2 little basket things to hold salad stuff for my sister (yet 1 seems to have become a beer bottle holder much to my delight). The 4 shelves inside all seem sturdy and are capable of holding an incredible amount, with great depth and width to it the shelves have a lot of space to cover and manages to cover it all with out even seeming under strain. With 3 sections in the door we're currently using the bottom one for milk cartons, the middle one for jams (I always thought they lived in the cupboards...) and the top one for eggs well, when we have some eggs. Standing at around 3 foot the fridge is excellent in regards to size and the temperature which has so far not needed to be changed at all seems to have kept things cool but not over cold (my one at uni used to actually freeze the bacon for some peculiar reason). The controls and light are at the top and are nicely laid out allowing for easy use and a good brightness that illuminates the whole fridge for easy to find midnight snacks.

Back the the freezer which is broken into 5 sections (4 drawers and an Ice Bank) it is also around 3 foot tall with each drawer being considerably larger than the previous freezer one (which had 6 over slightly more overall height). The basket things are made of solid thick plastic that look fairly durable and feel fairly tough too and manage to hold a hefty amount (thankfully), they are each capable of holding around 5KG or so it looks (I'm not re-arranging things to actually test this but they all have about 4-5KG of stuff in and are fairly packed at the moment. When it comes to temperature boy it's cold, everything seems well frozen and the door is cold to touch. However I couldn't actually locate the temperature controls for this so the fact mums thrown out the manual provides a few problems if we ever need to play about with them.

When compared to the other freezer we have which seems to be without baskets the shelves are covered in a sort of snow like substance that seems to be taking up about half of the total space, thankfully the newer one seems to be totally free of this. Although we do have so "invisible" ice on the baskets from the electricity going out the other morning the space is all fully there. Although with the basket design it would look like this is going to be much easier to clean and defrost if it needs to be done. Although the snowed up one does feel like it's colder it feels like it's set too cold if I'm honest (having a quick look it is set to the lowest possible.

The door hands are in the middle of the device and allow you to open it with your fingers with relative easy, unlike the old Freezer which has a handle that has been snapped off (don't know how) and now seems difficult to open. The top is the fridge and the bottom the freezer (though I seem to think this is the norm for these sorts of devices) and with the Beko name you know you are buying a branded products (despite the fact they are probably better known for their washing machines than fridges, they do have a vast array of fridge-freezers).

The A Class efficiency of the device is likely to mean the excess on price above some of the others on offer will be saved over time by cheaper electric bills, always something that needs noting with Christmas and winter hurtling towards us. The fact we are yet to have any problems (in 6 months with the device) it's looking unlikely that we'll need to call out a repair man every few weeks (touch wood) like you may need to do with some of the cheaper rivals on the market. In fact the over all build quality appears unreal in just how good it is. Though I'm not sure what sort of a warranty we have on the product I'm not even thinking that we'll need to use it.

Overall a great and huge fridge freezer that should hold several weeks of food at any one time for a family of 4. Sadly it may cost a lot to fill up, though when you realise how long every things going to last you'll realise how much easier it makes your shopping life.

Summary: A brilliant fridge freezer
