Advantages: Cheap, good size, ice cube tray and scraper included, no ice in the freezer, quiet

Disadvantages: No extras such as taps or ice cube makers

We bought our brand new Beko Fridge/Freezer about a month ago, as our old fridge/freezer (an LEC), had a tiny freezer which never had anough room left, and the fridge was freezing things in parts and the whiole thing was dripping like crazy. Also, the seals were totally shattered, and the doors never shut properly. So, you could say it had seen better days, and buying a new one was long overdue.

We looked around various stores, such as Currys, Comet, Scottish Power, Argos etc. as well as on the web, and this was the best deal for us by far. We couldn't get a really huge model as it would not fit in the space in our kitchen, so this 1/2 and 1/2 model with a 7.6 cu. ft. gross capacity, a large (to us anyway!) freezer with 2 shelves, and similar sized fridge to our old one, was perfect. We ended up buying it from Currys as this was where it was the cheapest, at £169.99.

The fridge/freezer is pretty basic, there's no frills such as a tap/ice cube maker, there's no automatic defrost etc., but it is great and does its job very well. The freezer has barely any ice in it yet and has been on for a month, so that is pretty good, and the fridge features such delights as special covered compartments, a removable egg tray, salad crisper etc. There is also a light! (The one on our old fridge/freezer broke YEARS ago!). You also get an ice cube tray and ice scraper included, which are very useful, (we use the ice cube tray all the time, but we have not needed the scraper yet!).

Overall, this is one of the cheapest new fridge/freezers available, and is well worth buying if you just want a great quality machine with no extra "frills".
