As some of you may know I recently wrote a review about my Candy fridge/freezer, here is my update, it's died! Now I will not be sorry to see it go but I have been left with the predicament of milk going sour and freezer food defrosting rather quickly. I am very lucky in that my partner had put away some Love 2 Shop vouchers we had been given for Christmas, and with these we would have to buy a fridge and freezer. We had seen that there were offers available in Comet and even though we detest this store (see my other review) we went and had a look, there we found this USA style fridge/freezer for a greatly reduced price and after getting a further discount we bought it for £499 instead of £549.99. They even had it delivered in a record 2 days! Upon receiving the fridge/freezer we were instructed to leave it to stand for at least 8 hours for the cooling fluid to settle and then turn it on and leave it to reach its preset temperature levels, this took a further 8 hours. Now the look of the fridge/freezer is really cool and modern, with its silver brushed metal doors, its digital display and its water dispenser. The digital display shows the preset temperature for both the fridge and the freezer and it shows the E icon denoting that the fridge/freezer is in economy mode. On the display there are four buttons two are for adjusting the temperature of the fridge or freezer and the others are for putting the fridge or freezer into "fast freeze or fast fridge" mode. These modes are for use when you need something cooling or freezing really fast, which is so cool - it's freezing. The door on the right is the fridge and is bigger than the one on your left, the freezer, but both have a great size, The fridge has 370 litres of capacity and the freezer has 178 litres which is more than sufficient for a good sized family. I took everything out my old freezer, which was full to capacity and put it in my new freezer and not even 3 shelves were full. There is also a very snazzy ice-maker, you simply fill up the tray and wait for it to freeze, then tip it upside-down, and there you have it ice. At the front there is a water dispenser. You simply open the fridge, fill the container, I like to use filtered water, then wait a little while and you have cold water on tap. OK, you could get cold water FROM the tap, but it wouldn't be nearly as awesome!! and it runs at 43 db so it's very quiet too, unlike my last fridge which didn't so much hum as buzz like an angry wasp stuck in a metal jar. The fridge/freezer has an A+ energy rating and uses 472kWh/annum which is awesome considering the size of this thing. I have now had this fridge for about 2 weeks and so unbelievably happy with it that I have considered just sitting next to it and holding it, perhaps stroking it lovingly, but seriously I would recommend this to anyone as it is brilliant, big enough for even the largest of families. And let's face it, it looks COOL.
