Advantages: Looks nice, reliable, roomy

Disadvantages: Non see through freezer doors

We have owned our Hotpoint Mistral Fridge/Freezer FF72 for 1.5 years and have not had one problem with its functionality during this time.

The fridge section contains 2 large clear salad/vegetable bins with humidity control for each bin and a separate chiller section underneath to keep certain foods at a lower temperature. The door has different sections to contain bottles or large containerswith a sliding retainer (useful to secure bottles when shutting the door). The door also has 4 commodity racks, one with a lid for butter and one for eggs. They can all be moved to different heights to suit. There are 2 adjustable shelves plus a glass shelf on top of the salad bins. There are adjustable rack shelves with various different height settings.

The freezer section is frost free with a fast freeze section at the top and 3 storage baskets. On the inside of the door is a handy frozen food storage guide.

The outside of the fridge/freezer has a temperature display which you can set to show either the fridge temp or freezer temp.

One thing we found very useful was the fact that the doors can be taken off and the hinge changed over to open the opposite way. We made use of this when we moved house as there wasn't room to open the door on its original side.

Both parts of the fridge/freezer have worked perfectly since we bought it. Two little niggles I have are the fact that the freezer baskets are not see through to see at a glance what is in the containers and the shelves inside the fridge do not have a flip section to lift if you have extra tall containers to stand on a shelf - if the door is full.

The information given in your report is useful, in respect of the fact that I am unable to make a decision on whether to buy the Hotpoint Mistral as you have or the Bosch KGU3220. Sadly no one has written an opinion on the latter. Both seem to offer similar features at the same price. Somebody else has voiced that the Hotpoint can be a bit noisy. This is a valid point as my husband manages to be woken by the noise of the bread machine when I can sleep on regardless. Tomorrow shall reveal the verdict. I will opinion after the event.
