Bosch GSN32A21B ... freezer gave up the ghost recently. Not with a bang: no “oh my god everything’s defrosting where’s my insurance policy”. Just a whimper that all was not well. We had to put it on life support (constant super-freeze). Over 25 years (about 75 years in human terms) it had behaved impeccably, and now it hung on until we could get a replacement. So goodbye Zanussi, hello …. what? Fortunately the choice available for our specifications, while large, was not overwhelming. We wanted an upright, 10/11 cu ft, frost-free, medium price range. I have started writing reviews on the contents of my kitchen I would like to follow up by telling you about my SMEG fridge freezer yes the names funny but the fridge freezer is a serious piece of equipment that I would never be without even though it cost my mum as a house warming present over £1700 well she would not buy me any other brand as she swears by SMEG and we have always had this brand in my family home. I know what you are all thinking why spend so much on a fridge freezer well the truth is if it had not been bought for me then I would never be able to afford it. Servis M7571C Fridge ... was on the hunt for a new fridge recently. We had an erm... nasty looking Zanussi and we had decided on a Retro Fridge. The obvious initial choice was a SMEG, they look fantastic in the pictures that I saw, even if it was £800+ for a fridge, and I really like them. However I had trouble finding a review that gave the SMEG a thumb up, most reviews I found stated bad quality and weak fittings inside the fridge. AS well as very poor customer service I went to see for myself and indeed they did seem to be flimsy and weak, also the door was nice and chunky, but seemed really light as if it had no substance, and the big chunky handle was plastic.
