Argos 6 Litre Mini Fridge ... if you ve ever been a student, you ll probably know what it s like to have your food disappear. After numerous occasions, where I d come home to find my milk gone, cheese halved and butter non-existent, and many furious denials, I knew something had to be done. I d always had the idea of getting a mini-fridge in the back of my mind since starting uni, but my new thieving housemates were the catalyst for this final decision. Hotpoint RLAV21 ... bough this fridge for the good features it advertised and seemed to contain in he shop: small and compact, energy A rated so cheap to run, good shelf layout, door opened either way, came with butter dish egg tray, bottle holder and vegetable crisper. For the first couple of months this fridge worked really well, nice and quiet, nothing to fault it for. Then it started making more noise than it should, and seemed to be on for longer than it needed to be. I called the engineer out, he came prompltly, looked at the fridge, it had just run out of gas, obviously a small leak somewhere, but had to come back on another day to get the leak fixed, which he thought he had done.... Hotpoint RLA34 ... bought this fridge partly becase I trusted the name. The fridge is very spacious and the vegatable draw at the bottom is huge. I was a bit concearned about having glass shelves as my previous fridge had wire shelves but so far I haven t had any problems and the glass is easier to keep clean. When you split the centre shelf the half shelf left is a bit to small to be any use so it is easier to keep bottles or taller items in the door. My only real complaint is that the temperature control is on the outside which although convenient is much too inviting to little fingers.
