Advantages: Good Price, Good Size, Quiet, Ample Space, Looks Good
Disadvantages: Could do with another Fridge Shelf, Ice Cube Trays Useless
We purchased this last year when old Fridge/Freezer finally lost it's battle and died on us. Bascially, it was everything we were looking for in a fridge?freezer. Tall, but not too tall, not too wide, as we have limited space in the kitchen. A good sized freezer, a reliable make, and a price tag under £300.
It performs perfectly well as a Fridge/Freezer, we have had to 'technical' issues with it ........ touch wood.
Also - it is very quiet in comparison to some others, I have been known to check it is on as there is no noise coming from it!!
The freezer compartment is on the bottom, with 4 drawers. The drawers themselves are not especially big, certainly not big enough for your average Christmas Turkey!! But I think this is the norm with this style and size of Freezer, and this isn't really a problem for me, as I don't tend to buy much frozen stuff, and when I do I take it out of the box etc to create more space anyway.
On the top rim of the top 2 drawers, there is a removable ice cube tray that slots neatly into the top of drawer acting as a handle also. As a handle is fine. As an ice cube tray, it's a nightmare. You have to more or less guess how much water to put into the tiny hole at one end, and get the little lid on sharpish before all the water flows back out onto your feet. Once frozen, be prepared to bang the thing off the kitchen worktop like a madman/woman in order to get an ice cube or 2 loose, then prepare for battle as attempt to remove said icecube(s) from the centre. Back to icecube bags we go. nice idea, though.
I have found the door seal very tight, though, to the point where I've unable to get it open on a couple of occasions!!
Now onto the Fridge. It's good size for us (family of 5), the Milk compartment inside the door holds 3 x 2ltr cartons of milk easily. 2 other shelves on the door, one with a lid and egg holder for 6 eggs.
There are 2 seperate salad drawers in the bottom of the main part of the fridge, both are a good size.
The fridge has 3 removable glass shelves, which can be moved up and down to several different heights or removed completely. However, I can't help thinking that there should be 4 shelves, I find there is a lot of wasted space and I'm often piling stuff ontop of other stuff, where a 4th shelf should be.
The fridge door has the opposite problem to the freezer, however, in that the door often doesn't close properly on first attempt, you have really lean on it sometimes to get it to close.
It has quite a sleek, simple design, which I like, no handles sticking out for example, which is essential in small kitchen with kids heads at handle height!!
Summary: Good value for money from a trusted brand, few minor quirks, but overall good appliance
