Background
----------------
My husband and I moved house last year and my parents decided to buy us a fridge freezer as a house warming present as our old fridge was looking a bit bashed and tired and the freezer kept making a funny clunking noise. Hurray for parents, eh?
What We Wanted
-----------------------
Off we trotted to Curry's with our copy of the Which report (it's my dad's Bible!) and had a good old nose at what was on offer. The space we had in our kitchen was only 600mm wide, so we had to be quite careful about which one we chose as they come in all different widths. Other than that, we had no fixed ideas about what we were after.
Why We Chose This Model
-------------------------------------
There was a huge selection in the shop, so much so that they all seemed to blend into one after a while. Nearly all the models we saw were rated 'A' for energy consumption (that's a good thing - it means it doesn't use much electricity), with the top half as the fridge and the bottom half as the freezer compartment and were of a fairly similar size. The Samsung fridge freezer appealed to us because it has adjustable solid glass shelves (our old fridge had wire shelves, which was a nightmare if you were trying to stand anything narrow up), plenty of space in the fridge door for bottles, clear freezer trays (handy for when you're trying to locate missing pizzas) and it was a funky silver colour.
Ease Of Use
------------------
Instructions for using your new fridge freezer:
1) Open the door and let the nice man from Curry's bring it into the kitchen.
2) Insert plug into plug socket.
3) Load with food.
And that's pretty much it. There is a fairly easy-to-understand instruction booklet that comes with it though in case you need to troubleshoot.
Once it's up and running, it needs a quick wipe over when it gets grubby, although the silver casing seems to hide the dirt on appliances a lot better than white casing does. This model is frost-free so, in theory, it doesn't need defrosting. It's also nice and quiet, allowing us to hear the TV (something we couldn't do with our old freezer). The temperature seems to keep nice and constant and we haven't noticed our electricity meter going through the roof!

Conclusion
----------------
I would definitely recommend this model - it's dead easy to use, nice and quiet and reasonably priced. Just make sure you measure up before you buy it - I jokingly asked the delivery man what would happen if the fridge freezer didn't fit into the space in the kitchen - he laughed and said 'Tough.'
