Advantages: Samsung back up, large fridge space

Disadvantages: small freezer

Bought this fridge freezer second hand and initially was really pleased with it, it looks great and has cold water and ice (cubed or crushed) on tap which kids love!!
Theres loads of space in the fridge but the freezer is pretty small so not ideal if like me you like to cook batches of curry, chilli etc and freeze them.
We'd had this for a few months when it started to go wrong, first noticed the temperature dropping in the freezer and spoiling the food, the fridge although the electronic display showed the temperature was fine, also started to get warmer.We noticed the fridge had started to make a loud whirring noise which only stopped when yo opened the door. We defrosted it and the noise stopped for a while but soon started again along with the temperature rising and food being spoilt.
We didn't want to spend money getting someone out to look at it if it couldn't be fixed so did a bit of digging and lo and behold, on youtube there's a watchdog programme saying Samsung had agreed that this unit "was not fit for purpose" and had agreed to replace the cooling units in these free of charge! Rang the number, they got someone out the next day who replaced the cooling unit-problem solved!Hope this helps someone-it's been fine ever since.
