Highly recommended, if you have the space!

After saying goodbye to my old Electrolux fridge freezer that had served me well for nearly 15 years, I started looking around the shops for a new fridge. Samsung was one of the brands that surprised me as a lot of people seemed to be recommending them, and I didn't even know they made fridges! As luck would have it I was able to get a massive discount through work so it cost me a fraction of the price. Kerching (though I deserve it!). I am told the regular price at Comet or Curry's is pretty good anyway, as this isn't the most expensive fridge they sell, more of a mid-range variety.

The deal included a free delivery and installation, and after checking the measurements (my front door was only just wide enough!), the silver beauty was wheeled into the kitchen and plugged in. As fridges go, it's somewhat shorter than usual, and rather wide, but it fitted in perfectly. It made a bit of a whirring noise (as if to introduce itself to us!) and the delivery guy recommended we make sure the fridge is level to avoid the noise it sometimes makes. Done.

I took a quick look at the instructions but there was hardly any need as even a chimp on acid would know what to do. It's all very easy and self explanatory. You have a little LCD panel to control the fridge and freezer temperatures, a very useful holiday function that turns the fridge off while keeping the freezer on, and the open door alert that starts beeping if you happen to leave the door open. Simples.

The fridge section is larger than the freezer, but both have so much space that now I can fill it up with supplies for several weeks ahead. There are lots of shelves and drawers, a bottle rack in the door, an egg tray, ice cube trays and of course the chilled Brita filtered water feature that my flatmates love (yes the fools still drink tap water despite my Isklar review!).

The shelves can be moved around to accommodate larger items (say a 24 pack of Buds) and if there happens to be an angel that wants to clean the fridge for you, said shelves are very easy to remove for cleaning. And what more do you need to know? I'm very happy with it so far, it's a fairly quiet appliance and apparently uses less energy than my old fridge did, so there's a saving on the bills too. If you're looking for a new fridge freezer and have the required space in your kitchen, this is a very good choice.

Buy it, you won't regret it, but check delivery charges if doors have to be taken off and replaced

I have long dreamed of having an American Style fridge freezer but they have always been prohibitively expensive and often too big especially in depth. I have a "petite" kitchen and was worried one of these beasts would dwarf it.
I have now owned this fridge freezer for 4 months and couldnt be happier.
        - The delivery was a bit interesting as there was talk of needing to remove our kitchen door but luckily they squeezed it in - apparently a standard size door is too small to fit this through so be careful about choosing a reliable delivery service if you get this (tho this would be true of many american style fridge freezers so don;t hold it against the samsung!).
        - The exterior of the fridge is this gorgeous matt/silk slate grey silver. It doesn't show up fingerprints etc like many silver appliances, so is easy to clean and keep looking clean.
        - Handles are stylish and easy to clean too
        - The interior is so well designed. You can see alll of the contents of the shelves really well, and there are lots of door pockets, drawers and shelves etc to help you to organise your stuff, and its easy to clean in every respect
        - There are two sliding ice trays under a shelf whcih stops any bits dropping into the ice and making your drinks yukky, so I now use tonnes more ice than ever before and dont have to wrestle with ice cube bags!
        - I love the brita filter chilled water dispenser - my kids have started willingly drinking water so they can use the dispenser. Bit of a pest keep filling it but no way we could have a plumbed-in system
        - It is deeper than the standard size kitchen units it sits next to, so it sticks out a bit but somehow it doesn't matter and it certainly doenst overwhelm the kitchen.
All in all great value for money, stylish and suitable for small kitchens as well as large.

Good large family size fridge with lots of features for the price.

We have owned this fridge for about a year now and it is a relatively good refrigerator. We needed something bigger that didn't need plumbing in so the fact that this has a Brita filter dispenser in the door was the selling point for us. The ones that need plumbing in have a lot less space due to the ice maker in the freezer which takes up a whole shelf. This does not suffer from that, so you get more freezer space which is great for people with large families. The design is great, the digital settings for the temperature and child lock are a nice addition, and I like the fact that it beeps if left open too long. Our cheeky 2 year old likes to sneak into the fridge to try and find some chocolate and he always leaves the door slightly open, so the sound it makes lets us know what he's been up to!

The only downside is the noise it makes. Every 20 minutes or so it starts making a buzzing noise which fades off after a few minutes but you can hear this from upstairs. It is not as noticeable after a while and is not a big problem, but I haven't had a fridge that did this before.

Overall a good size fridge with water dispenser at a good price and I would recommend this to families.

A great product - very highly recommended :)

          Samsung RSA1WTMH

We got this fridge delivered on thursday and we purchased it from comet and so far I am really happy with it, in the way that it looks and the features of it too. It was a bit difficult for them to get it though the door and they had to take the fridge doors off but it got put back together easily.

          *About the product*
The colour of the product is like a dull steel colour, on the site it says it is called manhattan silver - but it is not very shiny. It is an american style fridge freezer and it has a brita filter water dispenser too.

The fridge section is larger than the freezer and they both have lots of shelves and drawers so there is so much room. On the front of the product above the water dispenser it has a screen with the temperatures of the fridge and freezer on it too.

          *My opinion of the product*
One good and bad thing about this product is that if you forget and leave the fridge/freezer door open and the inside of the products gets to a higher temperature than it should, the product makes small but quite noisy beeping sounds which does warn you that you have left it open and should close it - but it does get a bit annoying when you are trying to find something and this beeping starts! They call this feature the open door alert.

I really like the design of this product too, it looks more expensive than it actually was. It also has other extra features which are good too, such as two large chill drawers, A bottle rack in the door, Dairy compartment, 12kg freezer capacity, egg tray and it is easy to slide and move around a little bit to clean it/or move it to another place.

I like the water dispenser too, but it is not really that useful is it - unless your water has been turned off or something, as it is just the same as a tap. But it does look better with it.

I like the dimensions of this fridge/freezer too as the other one that we had was really really tall and quite narrow, but this one is quite short but really wide! So it is a lot better dimensions compared to the other fridge that we had. So it is easier to reach all of the stuff at the back, but now that it is bigger and wider it looks like there is less food in it!

There is one thing on it that I am not sure about, as on the display on the front it has the temperature and a button with vacation under neath it. So I guess it means that you can put it in a different 'mode/setting' when you go on holiday, but I'm not sure.

With the one that we had before it was very noisy and kept making random noises for no reason (see lee evans live at the o2 for more information)! But this one has not do that and it is really not that loud at all which is great too.

Also a good feature (which we had in the other one too) is that the holders/sections on the inside of the doors can be moved. So that if something is too big to fit on one of the shelves, you can just move them to accommodate the items according to their size - Like some sort of fridge tetris!

We got this one from curries and it cost less than I expected it to cost, which is always a good thing. For just under £600 from comet which is great and I think you can get it from boots appliances which I never knew existed!

Overall, I really like this product, it is stylish, sleek and has other extra features. It is very spacious in the fridge and the freezer section, it has a brita filter water dispenser (which may come in handy if the tap broke or something like that)!

          Conclusions
          Good points
*Large - wider and shorter than others
          *Brita filter water dispenser
*Lots of space in both sections
*Lots of extra features such as the bottle holder on the inside, ice cub trays and moveable shelves
          *Looks great
          *Fast freeze facility
*Not as expensive as I thought it would be
          *LED temperature display and controls
          *Not very noisy
*And a energy efficiency grade of A! - so it is better for the environment

          Bad points
          *None really!

Thank you for reading my review

amazing american style fridge looks good and is good top quality

i have had this fridge freezer now about a year it nearly went straight back i couldn`t get it in my house the measurments that they gave ( as i bought it off the internet ) didn`t include the handles but luckily the delivery guys knew how to take the doors off and it went in ok straight into place where i put it on and left it to settle for about 6 hours, the adjustable feet are a bit rubbish as i needed mine raising up a bit at the back and as the back has the wheels the adjustable feet were at the front so i have now got mine on a thin piece of wood at the back as you must have it level or it makes a bit of a whirring noise from the fan and the freezer can block, still on the outside the led display on the door is great and the buttons are self explanitory the temps are easy to alter it has a vacation button where you can switch off fridge but leave freezer on i think it could do with a button to do the opposite too just incase you get and frost inside ( which i tend to get as the vents are at the back so your bound to block em up at some point when squeezing things in ), thats about it for the outside now inside, the freezer as i mentioned before about me squeezing things in is actually quite small some of the larger supermarket pizzas wont fit in unless you unbox it and the shelves are a bit naff if your wanting to stack bags of chips/ chicken nuggets etc as they sometimes fall off the front when i open the door, the freezer doors has the shelves like what you sit milk in which i find a bit useless in a freezer i have filled them up with boxes of burgers and fish fingers ( the smaller boxes ) just to put them somewhere really and to make more room on the shelves, the freezer also has 2 darwers the bottom one is slightly bigger i use that for all my frozen meat i have a relative as a butcher so i get lots of meat with short life so i pop it into food bags and pop it in that drawer, the drawer above is still a nice size i use that for the kids lollies and ice pops as once they are loose they go everywhere, it also has under a shelf 2 pull out ice cube trays i hate ice cube trays cos if you want one cube about six falls out so i don`t use them i find the bags easier, well thats about it for the freezer other than i has 5 glass shelves ( more can me bought ) and they are removable though not into lots of positions, no on to the fridge on the door there is a top shelf with a roll down lid which i use for cheese and small jars etc below that to the side there is the water dispenser which has the small led display on the top also the hole for topping the water filter up is on the top too the top shelf has to be removed to pour water in or you need to fill the filter up by removing it to its full capacity at the side of that there is a small milk shelf which if putting milk in can only fit in a 4 pinter below that at the bottom of the door is a shelf as long as the door but its not very wide so i find it a bit useless not alot gets put in, it the fridge itself has 4 glass shelves which are removable again like the freezer not into many positions though and 2 drawers, milk i have a problem storing in this fridge unless i buy as i use it otherwise it gets stored on its side i find my drawers are a little bit rough pushing in and out not very smooth but other than that the drawers are sturdier than they feel, under the 2nd shelf there is a removable wine holder which i use if you remove it it leaves plastic circles on the side which look odd, the only thing its missing to me is an odour ioniser inside to help keep things fresher for longer other than that its a fab fridge it looks lovely and really finishes off my funky kitchen

Great for student houses, lagre families or those who entertain but measure up before you buy!

After living with four students in a flat with only one small combined fridge freezer I was delighted to find the double wide Samsung RSA1WTMH in my new house. With far more than enough room for the everyday uses of 3 people, we managed to store enough food easily to feed over 30 guests at a housewarming barbecue while still having our usual weekly food in the fridge. The filtered ice cold water slot is amazing and something I'd never have though of if buying a fridge, I always like iced water but never remember to put it in the fridge or to make ice cubes and hate waiting for water to cool when I want it. The water produced by the Samsung RSA1WTMH does not require ice cubes as it is ice cold on leaving the fridge. The LCD panel has options to control the fridge and freezer temperature and the aptly named holiday function which allows the fridge to be turned off while keeping the freezer turned on. Great for the university holidays when everyone is visiting home! The only disadvantage is the size if you have a small kitchen the fridge can dominate and might be hard to fit in some smaller kitchens, measure up before you buy!!!

            My Baby

The Samsung RSA1WTMH is my best friend. With its double wide capacity, and multi-level cooling features, this fridge is top choice for keeping my food and snacks safe and secure. Especially with big families like mine, this fridge is ideal because it is truly massive! I hate having to cram all of my groceries into a tiny fridge, so this feature is excellent. There are many shelves on the side that can hold many gallons of milk or other beverages, and also has two big bottom drawers suitable for all kinds of fruits and veggies. The fridge is pretty wide, so instead of having to cram food into the back of the fridge, you can just arrange them along the sides of the shelves, which is much more convenient when trying to put food away, and my favorite, FIND FOOD! All you have to worry about is having a big enough kitchen to hold this bad boy!!

Also, it has a filtered water/ice combination slot where you can refill your cup with a nice glass of cold ice water. The water itself is so cold, sometimes ice isnt needed! I love having ice water whenever I want without waiting for ice to cool it down.

Last but not least, the color is a sleek black that can pretty much match any kitchen out there. Dont sell yourself short. Look into the Samsung RSA1WTMH fridge! Im sure you'll love it!

              A handsome kitchen piece.

The catchily named RSA1WTMH from Samsung is likely to be another winner from the company who really define the art of domestic refrigeration.

The French may not be to thank for many things on this life, but they certainly know how to hang a door on a fridge. In fact, traditional English hingers are difficult to find now. And with a total volume of 544 litres (198 for the cryo closet), you ought to be able to chill enough Port Salut and Villagiose to see you through the fast approaching Christmas season.

Frost free cooling is, of course, standard on all Samsung models since 1998's RS440K, and styling has been dragged into the noughties by means of a silver finish to the exterior of the closet.

Cooling duties are handled by Samsung's proprietary SoftTherm system, which eases the closet's burden on the environment by introducing thermally inducive silicates to the coolant.

Lovely fridge, very nice and I highly recommend

We bought this fridge from curry's and online it looked like a really good value, on sale for £500. When they delivered it the driver said it was the largest fridge they sell. It is absolutely massive!

Basically the things we liked were the colour which matched our kitchen, the indoor filtered water which of course stays cool in the fridge. We both have been dieting and having a nice pure source of water right there has made it an easy option over a sugar filled soft drink.

The inside is very spacious with loads of possibility for shelf configurations. There are plenty of side spaces for 2 litre bottles, condiments, etc. The freezer is next to it and features lots of storage as well. There are two drawers on the bottom which are handy. Also a nice feature is the two ice cube trays.
Over all the fridge is fairly quiet, but still is probably nosier then a typical UK mini-fridge under the countertops.
The door also features a LCD panel which tells you and lets you set the temps for the fridge and freezer. There is a holiday button that will turn off the fridge part until you come back.
The Samsung fridge is a good mid-range side-by-side fridge-freezer. It's very nice looking and so far has been a huge improvement from the little Beko we had.
