Philips SRU9600:
... too many remote controls is a royal pain in the neck. Over the years I have tried many of these universal or all-in-one remotes. From the £200 Marantz touch screen, to one of the one4all remotes that I now use, this one from Philips came somewhere in between my testing and I will let you know what lets it down. It is not all bad though. The remote is very nicely made, feels nice in the hand and has a nice sim... Read the full review: One remote for everything almost by davomrmac |

Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote ... Harmony One Remote bought from Amazon for £75 on a special promotion. I d been looking to buy a Logitech universal remote control for some time; however mixed reviews on Amazon for the cheaper models left me holding out for a price reduction on the Harmony One. I d owned a universal remote made by Marantz back in 2001 at a price of £250 and hated it. There was a huge delay on signals being sent and volume control was a painful affair with the equipment I was using. In the box was the charging dock, the remote, a power cable for the dock, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, USB cable, software cd and basic set up instructions. I had a quick glance at the basic se... Read the full review: Logitech a 5 star brand??? by jodyv |

Cyberlink Infrared Remote Control ... ordered the latest version of the Cyberlink remote to use with my Vista 32-bit Ultimate Edition OS, my main needs were controlling windows media player. Having read a couple of other reviews I thought it would meet my basic needs. I order the remote from - Play.com for £5.99 The item arrived packaged in a couple of clear bags (in a jiffy bag of course). Inside the bags were the Infa Red receiver, the remote, batteries and a short instruction sheet. I booted up the pc, allowed it to run all the start up tasks and then plugged in the usb IR device. Windows Vista immediately recognised it and installed it within seconds. I sat back down on the sofa and the remote was w... Logitech Harmony 885 Advanced Universal Remote ... bought this remote 2 years ago for my partner who "really needed it!" I thought as a treat I would buy it for him but warned him that he coudlnt expect me to be able to use it as it looked like there was a million buttons (ok slight exaggeration a few buttons!) It s got rechargable batteries and charging station, so no more having to buy loads of batteries for your control. The batteries also last quite long in them but I also put my one back on the charging station at the end of the night. It does come up with a warning when the batteries are getting low and will prompt you to put on charging station. To set up the remote control you plug it into your comp...
