The beauty is in it's function!

Well, it's not merely a lump of plastic, and I hope my review will do something to prove that to you! Truth be told, it's not a very pretty lump of plastic, but its beauty is most definitely on the inside!

It's job is simple and straightforward: To help you transcribe audios and/or videos at your computer/laptop. It comes with no software and no other unnecessary bits and pieces to clutter your cupboards with - just the pedal and the usb cable attached to it. Just plug it in to your usb slot and go! Simplez.

I've had my Infinity foot pedal for about two years now. I purchased it new online for around £50 - if you do this remember to check the p&p costs because the pedal weighs a heavy 1.8kg (some sellers include p&p in the price, some don't - potentially adding an extra £5). It is costly, and so you have to be sure that you are going to use it sufficiently and that it will pay its way over time. I think the price is due to it being somewhat of a niche market, and so the manufacturers can really choose their own prices.

In my opinion the weight is necessary in order to prevent it from sliding around too much while you're working. It is a very sturdy thing that has travelled with me abroad, completely unaffected by being thrown around in my suitcase! (If you are also going to use it whilst travelling check you have enough luggage limit because as I mentioned it weighs approx. 1.8kg!)

Perhaps the best feature of this pedal is that it requires no software installation, and so you can use it with any transcription program you wish (you can good free ones to download). This foot pedal has three pedals (I'm not sure of another word for them!), typically the left is for fastforward, the large middle one is for play, and the right one is for rewind. I use Express Scribe Pro, and through that I can adjust the settings of the pedals (such as setting the right pedal to jump back 5 seconds rather than rewind).

Sometimes I do find that the pedal is too thick, and it would be more comfortable on my toes and feet if it were slightly thinner. I've roughly measured it up for you to have more of an idea of what to expect because when I bought it, I didn't see any measurements on the product details!

      Approx. Length: 20.5cm
      Approx. Width: 13cm
      Approx. Thickest Point: 4cm
Approx. Side Pedals thinnest point: 3.5cm
Approx. Middle Pedal thinnest point: 1.5cm

I cannot remember how I used to work through my transcription work using keyboard shortcuts!!
