I bought this on the strength of the previous review and I have to say that I am extremely happy.I use it to control a complicated home cinema/ hi-fi set up and it works seemlessly.A rare product that exeeds your expectation.Highly recomended.Even my wife was impressed!
After some research my hubby purchased this remote to replace the three we were previously using. We have also now added a couple more functions to it as well to set up the TV for the PS3 and the Wii as well as operating the Sky+, Bose DVD and Samsung TV.
Even my mother in law can figure it out so it must be easy to use!
I don't know much about the set up except that my hubby plugged it into the computer and did it all from there, it didn't take him very long either.
The glowing screen on the remote is where you start, on there you pick what you want to do (Watch TV, Watch a DVD, Wii, PS3, Listen to CD's) there are buttons on the side and you press the button according to where on the screen the activitie is. If you can't see the activity you want you can scroll the screen left and right till you find it using the direction buttons underneath the screen. You then need to make sure you keep the remote pointing at your system until it all sets itself up.
The remote will also then set itself up for whatever activity you have chosen, so for watching TV it configures itself in a similar way to a Sky+ remote, so all the record, play, rewind buttons etc work on the Sky+ features and the circular button with the directions and OK work the same way as a Sky remote. If there are any buttons that you need that the remote doesn't have then you can add the as special features accessed via the display and select them in the same way as when you originally selected the activity.
If you want to change what you are doing (ie switch from watching tv to watching a DVD) then you just press the Activities button at the top and the display goes back to giving you the options again and again it will then reconfigure your system to what you want to do!
The only problem that we have found so far is that when we use it with our Bose system on the DVD menu's it has a tendancy to jump 2 menu options when you are trying to scroll up and down - it doesn't do that with the actual Bose remote so we figure it mujst be something to do with this remote. It is a bit annoying but not a major problem.
