I have been using these discs for both music and video files burning them as iso, DVD and data discs. They are no different to the DVD+R red ones except they are MINUS R meaning older DVD players and drive writers will be able to cope with them, and read them correctly. I have to admit though that on older DVD players you will expect worse quality audio and video so I wont be knocking any marks off there.
These discs are Ok for audio playback, no better than the red +R ones and it makes no difference which ones you use. The bass still sounds a bit flat, without much depth to it, as if it has lost some quality just by being burned on the disc. The problem i have though is that movie quality is fine yet the sound quality during movies is not fantastic, and if you have an ear for audio frequencies and you like your sound in tip top form like i do, then you're going to be disappointed, and I would recommend the RiDisc ones instead.
Burning speed for these DVD-R discs is pretty average and normally takes between 4 and 7 minutes depending on your CD drive write speed and the buffering under run you use. i use Nero and so far have never experienced any buffering or corruption issues after burning.
The durability of these discs is just as good as any other high quality blank DVD, not 100% scratch resistant but it will shrug off light knocks and surface marks. You have to do some serious damage to them for the discs to be unreadable in the drive, and the top ink or paint they use has never come off on any of my discs. They're not built like TuffDisc brand ones but at least they don't shred themselves and render themselves useless after a minor surface scratch.
Playback speed is good, no better or worse than any other blank DVD-R's and they work fine in much older DVD players. The discs read fairly fast and then continue to play without errors, glitching or skipping. The discs also come in a fairly easy to open cake tin which is just a plastic see through pot, filled with the discs.
Overall these are good discs, not great for MP3 playback at 128KBps as i feel they loose oomph where bass is concerned but these are still highly recommended discs if you're not too fussed about that.
