Advantages: Doesn't harm disc, near 100% fix rate, easy to use, all you need comes in the box.
Disadvantages: Can be a little fidly.
The Skip Dr. Advanced is an easy to use CD/DVD repair system. I have used this kit many times. Such as on sratched or partially damaged dics and has had nearlly a 100% recored on completely repairing a disc. The way in which you fix the disc using the machine goes as follows:
1. Spray resurfacing Liquid onto the disc when it appears to be damaged.
2. Use the machine to spread and get the liquid al over the disc to fix the problem.
3. Buffer it up using the buffer square o make it shine.
4. Test it to see if it works
Below I have split the review into sections which I beleive come to be the most important feature a product like this must have. It shall be rated /10 along with a comment.
Price: 8/10
It costs between £8-£10 whichi sn't that bad. In the kit you buy you get, the main cd buffer (the big handle whing you see in the picture), some CD/DVD resurfacing liquid, a drying towel and a buffer square (to make it look shiny) which is quite a bit for the price payed.
Ease of use: 7/10
It is easy to follow the instructions and understand what you need to do when repairing the disc. The only problem I find when trying to repair a disc is that the black buffering circle in the main machine can pop out while buffering which can be a pair when trying to place it back in. Though if you hold it in place, while turning the handing it can be done easily.
Look of the Disc at the end: 7/10
nce the whole proccess has finished you can see lots of marks on the back, this may worry you because you think that CDs/DVDs must have no marks to play. Even though it does have marks on the back now, it still runs alright in the CD/DVD players.
Disc Reading Outcome: 9/10
Every time I have used this equipment it has nver damaged the disc. Every time it runs perfectly without any problems. The last time it used this equipment, it was on a DVD Video, when I had repaired the disc it hadn't altered picture quality in any way and most times it fixes the problems that you were facing previously.
Overall: 7/10
A great piece of kit which is easy to use. It fixes the problem without any hassel and for a very cheap price. No hard proccesses to repairing the disc, and it doesn't harm the disc in any way. Though is quite annoying that the main machine doesn't work so well when putting the liquid on the disc.
Summary: A great little machine which can solve all of your CD/DVD repair problems.
